It was shipped to the Browning warehouse in November of 1946 and has a serial number date 1946. It was sold and shipped from Browning to a customer in 1947. The letter dates the gun as a 1947 gun.

  1. If this is the complete serial number and no other letter or code as part of the serial number, then this gun was made in 1920. It is an FN Auto-5, not a Browning Arms Company A5.
  2. The original pistol, as introduced in 1935, and all subsequent variants marked and sold by FN, were labeled High Power. The black paint found on some High Power pistols originated from a French.
